Now’s the perfect time to start. VSAC, sponsor of Vermont’s 529 college savings plan, is excited to partner with UVM Athletics to help get the word out to Vermont families about saving for college. We’ve teamed up with RALLY’s Round Up this year as well as the Catamount Classroom for loads of fun for kids and parents!
Coming up:
At RALLY’s Round Up at UVM, kids receive free entry to specific games, locker room tours, invitations to kid conferences, shoot-arounds, and a goody bag full of cool activities. Plus, you’ll get a free VHEIP piggy bank or backpack to use, and hear from student athletes at UVM.
The Catamount Classroom is an annual event, sponsored by VHEIP, in which local elementary school are invited to cheer on the women’s basketball team. Free tickets are offered to the schools, with giveaways for students at the game. This year’s game will be on January 29, 2020, against American East rivals University of New Hampshire. Ask your school for details and come see the Catamounts shoot some hoops!
At RALLY’s Birthday Party on December 28, 2019, all the mascots from around the state join RALLY to celebrate with a bounce house, face painting, balloon creatures, food, and of course birthday cake. VHEIP hosts a shoot-out for kids and parents … and everyone attends the UVM hockey game!
We’re thrilled to get families to start small now to create big opportunities for the future! By opening a VHEIP 529 savings account — even with just $25 to start — you’ll be creating possibilities for your child’s future. Research shows that students from families who save even small amounts for education are three time more likely to go on to and complete college or other training after high school. And with VHEIP, Vermont taxpayers are eligible to get a Vermont state income tax credit on their annual contributions for college and career training.
Get in the game. Start now, shoot far, and get going with Vermont’s 529 plan so you’ll be ready! And stay tuned to more events and opportunities by signing up for college planning information with VSAC. We’ll help you navigate the road ahead!
