College Pathways conference @ Lyndon State College
April 4, 2016 at 3:45 pm - 8:30 pm
This is the final site of VSAC’s College Pathways events for 2016, offering FREE workshops to help families navigate the college search process and financial aid, at three locations across the state:
- Saturday, March 19 at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. (lunch provided)
- Saturday, April 2 at Castleton University in Castleton, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (lunch provided)
- Monday evening, April 4 at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, 3:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the Northeast Kingdom College Fair (pizza for workshop attendees!)
Now in its 15th year, College Pathways covers the entire college process, including creating a college list that fits student needs and family finances, specifics on how to apply, strategies for taking SATs and ACTs, writing an application essay that stands out, understanding college costs and financial aid, and more. Workshops are targeted to juniors and their parents, but also offer a jump-start for sophomores thinking ahead to college.
New this year: What I Wish I had Known, a panel of students give perspectives on applying and going to college – what worked (and what didn’t!), plus the challenges, successes and surprises once they got there.
Info and workshop details at www.vsac.org/CollegePathways. Registration is encouraged to reserve your seat in specific workshops, though walk-ins are welcome. All attendees will be entered in drawings for a chance to win an iPad mini!
